Southeast Simulated Attack Area

The Southeast Simulated Attack Area Munitions Response Site (MRS) is comprised of nine acres and was used for training using simulated enemy fire. Bridge building operations were staged and enemy fire was simulated from the banks of the Jordan River. Because of the activities performed at the site, the potential of small arms Munitions exists. During the 2007 site inspection, no munitions were observed in this MRS. However, two 5.56 mm blanks (one live, and one expended) were discovered outside of the MRS, near a knoll located south of the MRS. This MRS has been expanded to include this knoll area during the remedial investigation. This area is very near the Thanksgiving Point golf course and business center, as well as a portion of residential areas in the city of Lehi.
